| Dodgeball Benefits Children By: James Clark The kids don’t play. The adults do. Now how is that any good for the kids? Throw balls at people for a good cause. The Second Annual Dodgeball Tournament for CASA is February 16th. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA volunteers act as liaisons between abused children and the court system. CASA Development Director Rose Carkeet says hurry up and sign up because there’s only room for 36 teams. She says, “You can form a team of ten players. They can be co-ed or all of the same gender. And it’s teams to six to ten people and you rotate in and out and play dodgeball all morning, 9:00 to 1:00 pm.” By the way, the event is inside Cavasos Middle School. Sheriff’s Deputies have volunteered their time to act as referees.
