Breedlove Feeds Millions in Haiti But Still Not Enough

By: Dave Walker

Fish returned from a ten day mission to the tiny island nation last Friday where he personally helped with deliveries of dehydrated foods packaged at Breedlo
ve. "The sheer scope of what needs to be done is overwhelming,"
Nearly three million servings of Breedlove food has been distributed in Haiti. Lubbock Cares raised over $250,000 for Haitian relief efforts. About a third of that money went to Breedlove for food shipments. One serving of food cost about five cents.

Fish, the CEO of Breedlove reported back to the people of Lubbock Monday. "A lot of people in urban areas are moving into rural areas so they can find housing and become reestablished so when they do they go outside that radius of aid.”

Fish says the contributions from the people of Lubbock through United Supermarkets and American State Bank, “I don't say this lightly it saved a lot of lives it continue to save a lot of lives."
"There's a lot of aid getting into country. There is water and food available for most part. My concern is you have hundreds of thousands living in tents and a lot of those areas are highly concentrated and we're approaching rainy season."

The next shipment is scheduled to leave sometime this week. American State Bank branches are still accepting donations for the Haitian relief.
