CASA Gets $10,000 From Lions

By: CASA

Recently, the nation’s largest Lions Club, Lubbock Lions Club, made a significant contribution of $10,000 to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the South Plains. Executive Director, Amy Paiva, stated, “The Lubbock Lions Club is playing a vital role in helping CASA make a difference in the lives of children who are too often discarded by society. These Lions truly care about our community and CASA is honored to have their support.”

CASA is an organization that is dedicated to advocating on behalf of abused and neglected children on the South Plains. Last year, CASA provided more than 900 local area children with volunteer advocates serving as their guardian ad litem.

The Lubbock Lions Club grant was used toward funding CASA’s Happy Home Capital Campaign. As the need for more volunteer advocates continues to increase, this has caused CASA to outgrow their current office space leaving them to find a more adequate space for their volunteers and staff. With the generous assistance from the Lubbock Lions Club, CASA was able to reach their initial goal of making the down payment on their building.

CASA is currently accepting donations to fund the renovations of their new building in the Briercroft Office Park. No move-in date has been set for CASA to relocate to the new building. If anyone else is interested in contributing towards the renovations please contact Amy Pavia at 763-2272. CASA is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization so your gift may qualify as a tax-deductible donation.
CASA thanks the Lubbock Lions Club for joining the effort to help them secure a new office home so that in turn CASA may continue to advocate on behalf of local children in need.
